Las Vegas the Convention Capital for Trade Show Displays
In 2002 there were over 5 million conventions and trade shows in Las Vegas. This provided $5.9 Billion revenue for non-gaming. A great deal of top conventions rent space in Las Vegas, more than any othre US city. Las Vegas has grown since then as the need for exhibit space has increased
With such a growing demand, Las Vegas has had to expand. The expansion meant, imploding some of the world famous hotels like, the Sands, the Stardust and The Dunes, just to name a few. These hotels have now been replaced by such mega hotels like the Luxor, The Venetian and The Mandalay bay. The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) has also had to expanded. The LVCC has held major conventions such as COMDEX, CES, SEMA, INTEROP and many others
One exhibit house that has catered to quite a few of these shows is ELDS, Inc or Http://www.eldsusa.com, providing the convention exhibitors with custom built exhibit booths either for rental or purchase. ELDS is a full one shop exhibit house that will not only design and manufacture your next trade show display, but will also transport and set up your booth in any location in Las Vegas. See the options available for exhibiting in my previous article “trade show displays; rental vs. purchasing or leasing” Las Vegas has done a great job of providing a great backdrop for convention goers. Let’s not forget about the gaming industry, restaurants and hotels that cater to such shows and venues. The city had to expand to accommodate all the conventions that are coming to each of these hotels and convention halls.
With this growth traffic can be a nightmare. Las Vegas introduced its monorail system. The system runs along the strip to and from most Mega hotels and conventions halls. This certainly helps in getting around in such a tight knit environment. The system reaches up to 50 mile an hour and runs from one end of the strip to the next in less than 15 minutes. The parking situation can also be a mess, this cut down on parking as well.
“What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas? no other city has such nightlife. I certainly would enjoy it. It?s a once in a life time experience
Now with more that 9 million square ft of convention and meeting space there over 127,00 guest rooms, all in close driving to McCarran International airport. Adding to this in 2003 we have had The Mandalay Bay add 1.5 million square foot of convention center. The city is still growing and certainly the conventions will also grow with it.
